Progress Check
Hey! So I've been putting my nose to the grindstone for the past few weeks, not only with moving officially back to the UK after this stupid long year, but also with trying to get this commercial done for the big presentation! I felt it would be a good idea to talk about some of the difficulties and problems I've been dealing with recently.
So first and foremost has been figuring out how to transfer my game over to Unity from Maya, which has been more challenging than I thought. Sometimes textures won't load, sometimes the scaling is very off, sometimes random models were missing. It's important I figure out how to do this not only so I can interact with my parlour in a VR space, but also for future projects. Luckily, I have enlisted the help of a friend I have in Game Programming who has been teaching me Unity's layout and VR capabilities. That means I can now use video capture to get some of the footage for my commercial instead of just using the time consuming animation on Maya.
I'm also currently using programs like Adobe Premiere and After Effects to make the commercial itself. I've been researching free use songs, and finally decided on one from a website called wowa.me called Just Cool, which I think captures the cool and somewhat edgy tone I was looking for. I've also decided to keep the original colour and design of the title of Tattoo Parlour VR from my first presentation, and even added it as one of the posters in the game.
I'm almost done, and I'm excited to show everyone the finished results!
